Two brands that have made adidas campus black some major contributions to urban style and culture during their lifespans are both celebrating significant anniversaries this year. Pioneering hip-hop label Def Jam is turning 25 this year, while adidas will mark its 60th anniversary. With adidas kicks and classic hip-hop going hand in hand, it made perfect sense to team up for a co-celebration of the respective milestones. Def Jam and adidas have joined forces to co-brand some anniversary editions of a few of adidas's classic models. The first batch consists of a red and gold Forum and a black and red Stan Smith.
Back in November, we provided a first look at BAPE's and Neighborhood's adidas NMD TS1 project, but it appears that the trio is linking up for the POD s3.1, the futuristic Boost-laden lifestyle shoe that debuted in the Summer of adidas campus mens 2018. Neighborhood is lending its terse color-blocking schemes of black and grey, while BAPE's signature shark mascot appears on the lateral sides of the shoes opposite the three stripes on the medial, wit the upper adapting a camo-print featuring the signature ape and jolly-roger symbols. A adidas campus womens release is expected for early 2019, so stay tuned for updates.
Tyshawn Jones and adidas Skateboarding put in some premium effort to reimagine one of the three stripe's most prolific skate options in the adidas Superstar Vulc, just in high-top form. That's where the adidas Pro Model Vulc ADV comes in featuring a luxe treatment of faux-python embossed on the white leather upper with Adiprene midsole cushioning and sockliners targeting different impact points. Tyshawn added a white and green combination to pay tribute to the adidas Stan Smith while his bulldog, Nico, is adidas classic trainers featured on the tongue logo.
UK Sneaker Boutique, JD Sports is well respected for creating many great exclusive sneaker colorways. Their latest creation uses a classic 1980's Adidas tennis sneaker as the canvas. The Adidas Forest Hills lead the cutting edge of footwear design two decades ago featuring a footbed with NASA technology. The first JD exclusive colorway offers a fine perforated brown suede upper with sunshine yellow synthetic outsole. The other mock up uses a fine perforated aluminum grey suede upper and has a sky blue synthetic sole with chrome detailing. Both are available now at JD Sports .
Ultra Boost fans won't have to wait that long to get their hands on the adidas Ultra Boost 3.0. Retailers have confirmed that the third iteration of the adidas running shoe will indeed release this December 1st in four colorways; the Ultra Boost 3.0 features a new Primeknit style upper as well as an opaque material for the upper cage, but the heel-cap and Boost midsole remain consistent from the Ultra Boost 2.0 model.
Grab a detailed look at the forthcoming set below and adidas climacool trainers expect a release to hit the list of stores below come May 31st.Undefeated and Neighborhood have collaborated with adidas on a couple of relatively obscure 1980s classics. The UNDFTD x Neighborhood x adidas Consortium pack brings together premium black renditions of the adidas Micropacer and Official Mid 80s, each with both brands' logos in tow and atop white soles.
